When I first saw it I thought, “I don’t need this. I’ve been making bowls just fine”, but I wanted to see the video as I might learn something and the video wasn’t too long.

Then as I watched the video I thought how often I would be concerned and kind of sweat it out about the bottom bowl thickness (like almost every time!). Rarely I’ve had to modify my bowl shape as I went too deep into the tenon.

Then I thought how nice it would be not to stress about the bottom depth anymore!

Finally I thought, “Hey, it’s on sale today. Wouldn’t I be foolish to wait and then decide it would make my turning life more pleasant to have this and have to pay full price later?”

First of all, thanks so much for sending the extra extending rods with my bowl bottom thickness finder. It was really kind of you. Sometimes I make really big bowls so I’m sure they will come in handy.

I wanted to use your thickness finder before writing to you. That’s why it’s taken me so long, but now I’ve used it and, Wow!, what a wonderful difference. I only went through the bottom of a couple of bowls when I was learning, although I’ve had to modify a few due to thickness concerns. With your thickness finder I no longer stress about it.
